Hell House: The Book Of Samiel
This is based on a short story Hell House by Josh Whiles, and the basis for this horror movie that is a
blend of The Amityville Horror and The Blair Witch Project all in one. While a TV crew sets up to make a live broadcast at the house
where a brutal murder took place, a few kids have setup camp not far away in the dead of night, drinking while one tells the tale of 'Devil's Road'
about a father who stalks his daughter and kills the boyfriend she is with. As one tells the tales the rest of them enjoy it until they realise
something the other man shouldn't - there's the possibility that the stories are true.
The TV crew by all outward appearances are normal workers who are to broadcast the news but the couple are sexually rampant behind the scenes while
their cameraman sleeps alone hearing their noise in the other room. Though all this is going on they are not alone and something strange is happening
around them. Once the kids have talked about the stories they want to investigate the legend of the old house, Paul (Michael Antony Carlisle) takes
his dad's car and goes with the other teens to the house.
Generally, in Hell House: The Book Of Samiel the story is about a series of books that have been kept through the ages to banish evil from
troubling humans, one of them is in existence today called 'The Book Of Samiel'. The books are used for many evils and dispelling demons who seek
to possess the humans in whatever house they are connected to.
At the house the kids decide to go to, in order to find out about whether it is haunted, they are in for a shock as Adam (William Martin) has been
possessed and is a threat to each and every one of them, while Theodora (Kari Wishingrad) is next in the bloodline of the soothsayers who can send
the evil back to where it came from.
This movie alone would be of interest to anyone who likes the really pulp horror stories and urban legends that have been running over the past 50
years. Stories like 'The Hook' and 'The Boyfriend's Death' form part of this story making it feel a lot more real than it might have.
Bonus material on this DVD consists of trailers for other Brain Damage titles.
